DStv pulled out all the stops to bring viewers a spectacular show that aimed to honour and celebrate local stars and game-changers across 11 different entertainment categories this past weekend.

Proudly presented by 1Life – and one of the most anticipated events in the local entertainment calendar – the Dstv awards were hosted by

Dlamini Jones who had big shoes to fill as she took over from the previous presenter Bonang Matheba who is currently in New York promoting the second edition of her champagne brand, BNG, did not disappoint.

She brought the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg to its knees as she delivered a series of no less than eight fashion choices which went down well with the audience.

Dlamini Jones walked the red carpet in a cream-and-beige gown accompanied by her husband, Quinton.

The event which on Saturday nearly got branded dead and buried was given a boost by Makhadzi's beautiful performance that earned her a vote of confidence from Casper Nyovest who twitted his approval.

The hip hop singer twitted his approval as the show which was packed to the rafters nearly collapsed according to some on Twitter.

The event was a grand celebration of local talent as the stars who entertained us all through 2019, and the loyal DStv customers who supported their work packed the Northgate venue to the rafters.
