Everyone is going crazy over Lana Del Rey’s latest song!
The star’s newly released single “High By the Beach”, which will be featured in her forthcoming album Honeymoon, is said to be her catchiest song yet.
“It started with the chorus,” Del Rey told Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe of writing the track. “I was driving by the beach a lot. This was probably one of the last ones on the record…Even with the harmonies, it almost sounded monotone. But with the beat, it has this trap influence.”
The song speaks about being worn down by love and life, discarding them from your life, and seeking refuge from the ocean (and a joint!). “All I want to do is get high by the beach, get high baby baby bye bye.”
The song is, of course, synth-driven but it also boasts hip-hop influenced percussions and eerie organs adding to the “drone” of the song.
