She’s the One winner Linda’s stars keeps shining

Winner of She’s the One, Linda Sifumba continues to prove why she was crowned The One in the hit reality show’s first season.

“The objective of She’s The One is to give women a platform from which to launch themselves in the media industry. We are delighted to have played a part in helping Linda realize her dream. We look forward to seeing her on the silver screen and are proud of her achievements thus far,” says Marketing Executive at Edgars and season two judge, Belinda Godfrey.

While Linda won the role in the film before appearing on She’s The One, her confidence has grown from strength to strength since the show. “Thanks to Edgars and She’s the One I’ve been able to find a clearer path in the industry. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!,” says Linda.

Linda’s latest project sees her staring in a new South African film Ayanda. Directed by Sara Blecher ( Otelo Burning) and produced by Real Eyes in association with Leading Lady Productions, the film has already received much praise from viewers and industry professionals alike.

Linda’s first screen role was Ayeye, a series on Mzansi Magic, the cameo helped her get a taste of acting. Ayanda is Linda’s feature film debut and a chance to spread her wings in the industry.

Ayanda is my first ever feature, I am so grateful for this remarkable opportunity. I love that acting allows you become a completely different person and for just that moment you forget about the problems in your ‘real’ life and embody a completely different human being. I have always loved movies and have been fascinated by how people are able to portray emotions and experiences they have probably never experienced in their real lives.”

Set in Yeoville, Johannesburg, Ayanda is a coming-of-age story of a woman, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery when she has to fight to save her late father’s legacy – a motor repair shop, when it is threatened with closure. She’s thrown into a world of greasy overalls, gender stereotypes and abandoned vintage cars once loved, now in need of a young woman’s re-inventive touch to bring them back to life again.

The film also stars Fulu Mugovhani, Ntathi Moshesh, Kenneth Nkosi, Jafta Mamabola, Thomas Gumede, Sihle Xaba and veteran star of stage and screen Vanessa Cooke.

Linda also had the opportunity to work with actress and producer Terry Pheto. , “It was an incredible honour and privilege to have work with Terry Pheto on this film, I was entrusted with a role in her movie, I am humbled to have been a part of such an incredible movie that tells a tale about our new South Africa.  Huge congratulations to her for accomplishing her vision which has been beyond inspiring.”
