Taraji P. Henson showed no sign of fear as she walked the Academy Awards’ red carpet in a daring black dress. The 47-year-old actress’s Vera Wang designed dress featured a thigh-high slit that largely resembles Angelina Jolie’s iconic 2012 Oscars outfit.
Taraji admitted that even though the French-made tulle gown “took a few days” to make, she still wanted to make alterations to the designer gown. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Empire actress explained: “I’m not afraid. Vera was like, ‘Let’s take it there!'”
“I cannot tell a lie, the slit has to be just right,” she continued.
The Academy Award nominated beauty kept her accessories to a minimum, wearing a pair of understated geometric earrings and a matching ring. With upcoming movies Acrimony and Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 on the horizon, we’re pretty sure that this won’t be the last time Ms. Henson shines on the red carpet.
