The Academy Museum Art Gala is one of the newest red carpet events on the block. Held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles, the establishment celebrated its first anniversary. The opening of the museum last September was met with much fanfare and an inaugural gala presented by Rolex.
Now in its second year, the gala celebrates luminaries in the film industry. This weekend, media stalwarts including director Steve McQueen, Miky Lee, Julia Roberts and Tilda Swinton were honoured at the ceremony, while outside the gala, high-fashion abound, with looks featuring trends straight from the Fashion Month runways.
Sleek and sexy was a big theme of the evening - as seen on Kaia Gerber, Hailey Bieber and newlywed Nicola Peltz, to name a few, while bold and maximalism was also a major contender, represented by the likes of Jodie-Turner Smith in Gucci, Lily Collins in Dior, and Jessica Chastain in Oscar de la Renta.
In other news, pop culture’s most famous rivalry was seemingly put to rest when Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber posed together and embraced for pictures for the first time ever, igniting a media frenzy post-Museum Art Gala.
