Siya has stepped into this new chapter with grace and intention,  proving that maternity style doesn’t have to mean sacrificing identity. Instead, she’s redefining what elegance looks like during pregnancy, with comfort, polish, and confidence leading the way.

In this exclusive interview, Siya opens up about the evolution of her style, how she kept her pregnancy under wraps with the help of fashion, and the local brands that are helping her feel most like herself, even as everything else is changing.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! How has this new chapter influenced the way you approach fashion and style?

Pregnancy has taught me to embrace fluidity in style. I’ve always loved tailoring and structure, but now I’m drawn to silhouettes that allow movement and ease,  without losing polish. It’s a reminder that style isn’t about restriction; it’s about expression, even as your body changes.

You managed to keep your pregnancy under wraps for a while. How did fashion help conceal your bump, and how did your stylist support you during that time?

Fashion is one of the best secret-keepers. I leaned into layering, oversized blazers, and strategically draped pieces; they looked intentional and chic without giving anything away. Winter helped a lot. Nothing felt like “hiding,” it was just a natural extension of my aesthetic.

What pieces have become your go-to staples during pregnancy?

Blazers, knit dresses, and flowy trousers,  they grow with me and still reflect my style: sharp, minimal, and feminine. The balloon pants trend also came at the perfect time. Now that it's warmer, I’m reaching for light fabrics like satin and lace.

Were there any style shifts you didn’t expect as your body changed?

Definitely.  I thought I’d avoid anything too form-fitting, but I love how fitted knits or bodycon pieces celebrate the bump. It’s a softer, more empowered femininity I didn’t anticipate. And while stilettos are on pause, I’m surprisingly enjoying kitten heels!

What’s been the biggest challenge dressing your bump, and how have you adapted?

Proportion. I love a cinched waist or cropped jacket, so I’ve had to rethink how I create shape. It’s not about letting go of my style,  it’s about reinterpreting it through belts, layering, and new structures.

Has pregnancy inspired more comfort-driven looks, or are you maintaining your signature style?

A bit of both. Comfort is non-negotiable, but I’ve learned it doesn’t mean sacrificing elegance. A knit maxi with a tailored coat or wide-leg pants with a crisp shirt;  that’s my sweet spot. I still feel like me, just with softer edges.

Which items or silhouettes have you let go of, and what’s still working for you?

High-waisted tailored trousers are on pause. But my oversized shirts and blazers are surprisingly more versatile than ever. I do miss my very high heels, though!

How do you balance practicality with glamour on days you still want to feel polished?

Glamour lives in the details. Even on more casual days, I’ll add statement earrings, a great bag, or a beautiful shoe. It elevates everything and keeps me connected to my style. Plus, with events and photos, I enjoy putting in that extra effort to show up.

Have you discovered any new brands or pieces you now swear by?

Yes! I’ve leaned into brands that use stretch, fluid fabrics, and thoughtful design. Some maternity ranges feel too prescriptive, so I’ve found gems in contemporary labels designed for real women. Local brands like 5th Avenue and Style Connexion have beautiful, soft, feminine pieces that work perfectly with my bump.

What role does fashion play for you right now? Is it about self-expression, comfort, or empowerment?

It’s all three. Fashion is how I reclaim my body during a time when so much is changing. Dressing well brings comfort and reminds me I can still show up fully;  it empowers me to embrace the shift with joy.

Looking ahead, how do you see your style evolving into motherhood?

I see my style becoming sharper in intention, softer in execution. Motherhood will require practicality, but I’ll always ground myself in strong silhouettes, beautiful textures, and timeless pieces. It’s not a reinvention, just an expansion of my style to fit both form and function.
