The Venice Film Festival is underway, and while the red carpet is noticeably quieter this year due to the ongoing simultaneous strikes called by the Screen Actors Guild Federation and the Writers Guild of America, those who are able to attend are not doing things by halves.
One of the standout looks so far comes courtesy of none other than Isabelle Huppert, the 70-year-old French actress who stepped out on the Venice Film Festival in floor-length silver Balenciaga fringing.
And, as if the major dress moment wasn't enough, Isabelle topped off the look with what can only be described as the world's tallest black platforms. Keeping her hair wet-look and loosely waved, she looked every inch the carefree fashion icon we know and love.
Joining her on the red carpet so far has been Rita Ora, whose sheer Stéphane Rolland look we can't get enough of, Michelle Rodriguez, Bella Thorne and Kate Beckinsale.
But it's not just the red carpet serving up some major fashion moments at the Venice Film Festival right now, with those iconic waterside arrivals proving one of the hotspots for a little sartorial experimentation.
And one of our favourite looks so far has to be Sydney Sweeney's, who revisited one of her favourite trends of 2023 - and one she championed earlier this summer at the Cannes Film Festival - the peek-a-boo bra.
A super soft take on the trend, this pale pink pleated Miu Miu dress with soft polka dots and a demure mid-length hem was given a much-needed edge thanks to the bra-like metallic embellished trim at the neckline and straps. Paired with matching silver sandals Sydney hit all the right notes with this arrival look… And this is all before she even steps foot on the red carpet.
Joining her in the stylish arrivals was Emma Corrin, who similarly opted for Miu Miu but went down an entirely different route.
Jumping on two of autumn's biggest trends, Emma's look not only showcased how to make the fashion pants look chic but also how to pair them with our favourite ‘borrowed from the boys’-style bulky brogue shoes.
