This innovative deodorant inspired the creation of a vibrant fabric design!

A while back, we told you all about Dove’s radical antiperspirant, Invisible Dry , and it’s genius ability to leave no white marks, after being tested on 100 different fabric colours. We also dished on fashion designer Ryan Keys’ South African Fashion Week (SAFW) experience, where he put his trust in Dove by using Invisible Dry antiperspirant on his garments.

Now, another ground-breaking designer, Rina Chunga-Kutama of Ri.Ch Factory, has joined forces with Dove. Upon the arrival of spring, a season that brings a truly cheerful vibe, Rina created a bespoke Dove fabric design with a distinct print. Being inspired by the iconic Mud Cloth or Bogolanfini print from Mali, the material represents a cosmopolitan, yet a genuinely African celebration of colour. It displays the traditional patterns, usually appearing in brown and indigo shades on the original Malian fabric, but adds a modern dose of colour.

When speaking about her artistic process, Rina described it as “choosing to pay homage to one of the oldest civilisations in the world.”  She elaborated on the concept of beauty by saying, “women all over the continent are reimagining what beauty means in an African context, and to have big brands like Dove backing this is refreshing and so affirming.” Dove understands that us African women cannot get enough of striking colours and prints, and gives us the boldness to wear them!

Dove’s eye-catching fabric was used to make a dress that grabbed everyone’s attention, at Africa Fashion International (AFI) JHB Fashion Week. Mzansi actress Nomzamo Mbatha, who loves rocking Ri.Ch Factory creations, slayed when she unveiled the dress at this dazzling event to close the show. Because the dress boasts such a dramatic and colour-rich print, using Dove Invisible Dry antiperspirant to care for the fabric, was key.

However, this antiperspirant will not only empower you by allowing you to sports fabrics in numerous tones. Containing zero alcohol, it also guarantees you 48-hour protection, while nourishing your underarm skin. After using Dove Invisible Dry, your underarms will feel softer and more moisturised, thanks to its ¼ moisturising cream. If your skin’s been damaged by shaving, this antiperspirant will help it to heal too. So, you’ll have one less thing to worry about, and the confidence to bare your underarms this season.
