21-year-old Keisha Qhama Sotaka is a self-employed student from Johannesburg. We get to know her a little more.

Work

I’m currently doing my last year in international relations at UJ, finished an interior decorating course at Vega and I have an interior decorating company called The Home Maker (@the_home_makersa). We’re actually currently doing our first big project. I’ve always had a passion for interior decorating and it excites me to make my clients home interior dreams come to light.

The best business advice I’ve ever received is very simple. “Apply for that thing you want to apply for, the worst that could happen is that they might say no.”, and I just went for it! I also once read something that said, “A few months of hardcore focus and alignment can put you five years ahead. Don’t underestimate the power of consistency and desire. You have what it takes to become the best that you can be. Don’t doubt yourself, harness your power.”

That Insta Life

When it comes to my feed curation, I just freestyle it. I also honestly can’t judge my own pictures so I get a lot of opinions from friends and half the content on my feed are their favourite pictures of me.

Love

There’s someone very special in my life, it’s still new, but I’m happy. I believe a healthy relationship needs a mutual understanding of one another, honesty and good communication. Also “a couple that plays together, stays together.” In relationships I’ve learned that compromise doesn’t make me weak. You cannot love the other person fully if you do not love yourself first.
