From Zendaya to Selena Gomez, here are the 2022 Emmy Award nominees

The 2022 Emmy nominees have been announced and the ladies are leading the pack.

Many of our binge favourites - including Euphoria, Stranger Things, Ozark, and Squid Game - are in contention, while silver screen ladies new and old, are also making their mark.

Zendaya is once again an awards-seasons It-girl, nabbing a nomination for the Lead Actress in a Drama series for her work in Euhopria. She is also nominated for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for her tracks “Elliot’s Song” which features in Season 2 and “I’m Tired” which featured in Season 2 and Season 4. In addition, she’s also made history as the youngest woman ever to receive a producing nomination at the Emmy’s. The 25-year old serves an executive producer on Euphoria which has been nominated in the Outstanding Drama Series category.

Singer Lizzo’s reality series Watch Out for Big Girls - in which 13-plus size models compete for the role of being her back up dancer, and in the process, learn to embrace their curves - is up for the award of Best Competition Series.

The usual suspects such as Issa Rae for Insecure and Elle Fanning for The Great are nominated for best Lead Actress in a Comedy series.

Then there are Hollywood sirens including Sarah Paulson and Amanda Seyfreid who star in Impeachment and The Dropout, respectively. They’re up for the award of Lead Actress in a Limited Series, Movie or Anthology.

Selena Gomez has also been nominated this year, but this time not for acting chops. The star forms of the production team for Only Murders in the Building which has been nominated for Best Comedy Series.
