This season, we’re turning the spotlight on female luxury designers who are making waves in the fashion industry! From stunning cuts that empower to vibrant colour palettes that command attention, these women are reshaping what it means to be feminine.
For this season’s comprehensive fashion week roundup, I have deliberately spotlighted several of my favourite female luxury designers. The overarching narrative this season wasn’t about fleeting trends, but about a powerful, unified statement on modern femininity, articulated through the eyes of the women who are defining it. At the very top of my must-see list were the visionary Sarah Burton for Givenchy and the always-elegant Louise Trotter for Bottega Veneta, alongside a few other notable talents who proved that true luxury resides in integrity and vision.
These were, without a doubt, my most anticipated shows of the F/W26 season, and thankfully, the anticipation was rewarded with spectacular, substantive presentations that will resonate far beyond the current cycle. What unified these and other impactful presentations by female designers this season was a shared philosophy: each presented collections that highlighted the female form without the necessity of sexualisation or pandering to a man’s idea of what a woman should look like or even wear. The clothes were cut to flatter, yes, but more importantly, to empower. The focus was on ease, authority, and self-possession. These were design collections created by women for women, offering a wardrobe built on respect for the wearer’s agency and sophisticated discernment.
F/W26 ultimately reaffirmed that the future of luxury fashion is not merely feminine, but fiercely, intelligently female-led. Adding a necessary counterpoint to the season’s strong tailoring was a rich and incredibly vibrant colour palette. Specifically, the collections were saturated with two key colours: the deep, refreshing tones of lush greens, evoking images of deep forest foliage and refined emerald jewels, and the fiery, visceral shade of passion red, a hue that commanded attention and injected a sense of drama, energy, and bold femininity into everything from evening wear to knitwear. This deliberate use of intense colour ensured that the A/W‘26 wardrobe felt anything but dull, marrying classic structure with a modern, spirited vibrancy.
