What to wear to GLAMOUR's annual fashion awards- GLAMOUR's most Glamorous

With much excitement and anticipation, we look forward to our annual global brand property event, GLAMOUR's Most Glamorous, taking place on Saturday, 25 July. This prestigious awards evening is a particular highlight on our calendar — and a personal one for me, as the premise is centred entirely on fashion. We honour twelve incredible tastemakers who embrace, boldly and unapologetically, their own sense of personal style — both on and off the red carpet.

Dressing for GLAMOUR's Most Glamorous

This year's theme is Fantasy Fashion. When I think of fantasy fashion, I immediately think of designers like Iris van Herpen, whose work takes on an otherworldly, almost sculptural quality — fantasy made fabric. Her latest runway show conjured models as mythical deities draped in fabulous adornment. For further inspiration, look no further than the ever-fabulous Zendaya, currently on her press tour for The Odyssey. Channelling her character, the Greek goddess Athena, she graced the red carpet in a look complete with angel wings — regal, ethereal, unforgettable.

And closer to home, our fabulous Nigerian counterparts have been serving major fantastical fashion moments at the Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards, proving this theme knows no borders. Think Nana Akua Addo in a sculptural, floor-length gown by Gaurav Gupta, or Lydia Lawrence-Nze in a stunning ensemble that bloomed like a hibiscus flower. Not to be outdone, our own homegrown icons — Bonang and Pamela Mtanga, among many others — have long turned red carpet dressing into an art form.

It might seem daunting at first glance, but ultimately, we encourage our guests to interpret it in their own unique way. And if you do find yourself stuck, my personal advice - ensure your look is red carpet ready even if you cannot match the theme exactly. If you're fortunate enough to receive an invite, we promise a night of celebration, sophistication and, most importantly, fun.

We can’t wait to witness the breathtaking looks inspired by mythical deities and otherworldly designs! How will you interpret the theme?
