K Naomi has profusely apologised over a Tweet that had caused social media backlash against her on Wednesday.

Speaking exclusively to GLAMOUR, the television personality and model said that she did not mean “anyone ill and regret’s the way the tweet [came] across and was subsequently received.”

K Naomi added that she could not justify her action and would like to apologise to all those she had hurt with the Tweet. "I'm so sorry to everyone I have offended with my tone-deaf tweet on bipolar and persons affected by the illness. My comment was not meant to offend, but rather to vent about people I found to be moody and inconsistent towards me,” she said.

K Naomi maintained that she had used a wrong wording in her tweet as a result she was sorry as she had also suffered from depression a few years ago. “As someone who has suffered from depression, I know too well the difficulties experienced by persons suffering from mental illness. I regret offending everyone and I do agree that some education on my part is necessary. I'm sorry!” said K Naomi.

Social Media users hit back at the media personality after her tweet was described as showing a lack of understanding for mental illnesses, particularly bipolar disorder, went viral.

In the tweet which had since been deleted, Naomi tweeted that she hated people who were suffering from bipolar causing a social media backlash earlier.
