The focus on the male form and dandyism, a style deeply rooted in Black cultural expression, gave men a long-overdue moment in the spotlight. Of course, the women didn’t hold back either, each look was a fashion statement in its own right. And yes, Rihanna’s radiant baby bump may have briefly stolen the show, but let’s get back to the main event: the men.It’s been over two decades since a male-centered theme took center stage at the Met Gala, the last one being Men in Skirts back in 2003. So, it’s no wonder the men came through with bold, unforgettable looks this time around.
The carpet (a cool-toned blue this year) saw fashion giants and entertainers alike celebrate identity-affirming Black fashion and tailoring traditions.
