The summer fashion trends you need to wear this holiday season

Summer is here and it is time to catch up on the latest trends hot off the spring/summer 2022 runways. Summer is all about celebrating, partying in super sheer dresses until dawn, low-slung waistlines and wearing head-to-toe crisp white.

Read on to find out more about the summer trends we are loving this season.

SUPER SHEER

Feel super in the daring super sheer trend. The sheer trend is all about diaphanous and dramatic drama. It is not surprising that the sheer dress has become one of the most popular trends among celebrities. The sheer trend is having a moment on the red carpet worn by Kaia Gerber and Olivia Wilde and has been spotted on all the spring/summer 2022 runways from Simone Rocha, David Koma, Khaite to Saint Laurent blouses and see-through Molly Goddard tutus.

The sheer trend is perfect for any party because it suggests a lot of sexiness without showing any skin. The sheer trend speaks to our current zeitgeist as women are wanting to be seen, acknowledged and empowered.

The super sheer trend is one of the most versatile trends. Choose between flowy sheer dresses or a sheer mini, sheer glam boots and sheer skirts. The trend is now everywhere in stores but if this trend is too risqué for you, layer sheer clothing over or under clothing such as blazers and bra tops to be trendy but also modest.

ALL-WHITE AFFAIR

Stark white worn head-to-toe is one of the freshest trends. White trouser suits were spotted at Valentino and tailored dresses at Hermès. Chloé’s and Alberta Ferretti's take on the trend was beachy and bohemian. Sportmax had effortless white looks in linen and cotton while The Row, Peter Do and Alexandre Vauthier proved crisp white is ideal for the minimalists.

Wear this trend this summer by layering, playing with different textures and fabrics, alternating between Ecru, Ivory, and creams, and adding volume with swishes of fringing and tassels. Take inspiration from the runways and choose between simple or contrasting accessories with the all-white ensemble. This trend can be worn everywhere but a wedding, unless you are the bride of course.
