It’s New Music Friday, and the energy is unmistakably electric because Makhadzi is outside celebrating in the only way she knows how: big, bold, and unapologetically joyful
As a lead-up to her 30th birthday, Makhadzi has officially kicked off the Big 30 era with the release of 10 tracks plus a bonus, an opening chapter to what will ultimately become a 30-track offering. This is just the beginning: more songs are set to drop in June, with the final wave arriving in September, building toward a full-circle celebration of her milestone year.
We had the chance to experience the first 11 tracks at the MAKHADZI BIG 30 ALBUM LAUNCH, and if that night was anything to go by, this project is set to define a moment. The listening session was immersive, vibrant, and deeply engaging, each track landing with intention, each moment reminding us why Makhadzi continues to command her space so powerfully.
There’s something deeply personal yet widely resonant about this rollout. Big 30 is about honoring a journey. With phased releases stretching across the year, Makhadzi is inviting fans into a living, breathing body of work that evolves with time.
