If she is not hosting women-empowering panel discussions or inspiring young girls to dream beyond boundaries, Zozibini Tunzi is securing international hosting gigs and cementing her status as a global icon. Fresh from hosting Miss Universe Tanzania, our former Miss Universe took to Instagram with a striking carousel that instantly had fashion lovers talking. Draped in a breathtaking turquoise blue creation by renowned South African designer Orapeleng Modutle, Zozi radiated elegance and sophistication.
Modutle, whose designs have graced some of the most prestigious red carpets, is celebrated for his ability to blend contemporary flair with timeless glamour. His work consistently pushes South African fashion onto the global stage, and dressing Zozi only reinforces his reputation for crafting show-stopping ensembles. Styled by the incredible Thobeka Mbane, who has been behind many of Zozi’s standout looks, the turquoise moment was another example of how the duo perfectly merge fashion and personality. Together, they have curated some of the most memorable red-carpet statements in recent years.
Both Zozi and Thobeka were recognised individually at GLAMOUR’s Most GLAMOURous Awards 2024. Zozi was honoured as an Emerging Style Icon, spotlighting her ability to champion rising talents like Orapeleng Modutle while setting trends of her own. Thobeka, meanwhile, won the Celebrity Transformer award, applauding her dedication to eco-conscious styling and her ability to transform celebrity wardrobes with sustainable choices.
Meanwhile, the spotlight at Miss Universe Tanzania shone brightly on Naisae Yona from Dar es Salaam, who was crowned Miss Universe Tanzania 2025. She will now carry her country’s hopes as she represents Tanzania at the 74th Miss Universe competition this November.
