Afrobeats superstar Davido and his long-time partner Chioma Adeleke have brought their romantic journey to a dazzling close with an opulent white wedding in Miami, Florida, on Sunday 10 August 2025. Branded online as #Chivido2025, the ceremony marked the third and final chapter in their marriage celebrations, following a private court wedding in March 2023 and a vibrant traditional affair in Lagos in June 2024.
The Miami celebration came with a staggering price tag. In a candid video circulating on social media, Davido revealed the day cost an eye-watering $3.7 in cash. “We’ve spent $3.7 million cash, so we must know what we’re doing,” he remarked with a grin. To keep the spotlight firmly on the couple, guests were under strict instructions to avoid white or cream attire, adhering instead to a refined black-tie dress code.
During the reception, Davido’s emotional tribute to his new wife left guests misty-eyed. “I’ve been on countless stages, but this is the most nervous I’ve ever been. You are my love, my peace, my home. You’ve seen the real me, the me the world doesn’t see, and you still chose me,” he said, visibly fighting back tears. The groom also marked the occasion with a lavish gift, a diamond-encrusted Richard Mille watch worth around $300,000.
The couple’s romance traces back to their university days at Babcock University. Davido famously made their relationship public in 2018 through the hit single Assurance, later cementing his devotion with the track 1 Milli. Over the years, their bond has endured public scrutiny, including infidelity rumours in 2021.
