1774, BIRKENSTOCK’s Paris-based creative studio, drives all brand collaborations and designs the 1774 collections – reimagining archive icons with luxurious materials and the highest craftsmanship. The launch of the super-premium collection coincides with the brands new creative platform ENSEMBLE 1774. Their aim is to have visionary talents invited to design 1774 collections. Thibo Denis, the Paris-based designer is the first visionary to collaborate on this first chapter. His mandate, to imagine new footwear silhouettes.
With a wealth of knowledge and over15 years experience in the industry, Thibo has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry such as the LVMH group. He collaborated with Kim Jones at DIOR on footwear collections and participated in the development of Ready-to-Wear capsules such as Air Dior and ERL. For this particular collection Denis explored the idea of designing a new sole with dynamic, sport-inspired lines — bringing athletic energy to the foundational language of BIRKENSTOCK. The concept behind the collection is rooted in the idea of “climbing” the city — as a metaphor for wandering, exploring, and moving freely through urban landscapes around the world.
While distinctly modern, the silhouettes maintain an immediate connection to BIRKENSTOCK’s DNA, visible at first glance. Colour played a central role in the design process, with bold, carefully balanced combinations inspired by the spirit of 1970s Yosemite — a nod to freedom, outdoor movement, and timeless functionality.
One of the styles, the Stroedt is exclusively available at BIRKENSTOCK V&A Waterfront from 2 October 2025. The Stroedt in black, white and lime is available in sizes EU40 to EU45.
