Paris Fashion Week: Saint Laurent's SS26 collection opens Paris Fashion Week with a bang

Anthony Vaccarello continues to masterfully channel the inherent house codes of Saint Laurent, consistently referencing the glorious zenith of the brand's aesthetic in the 1970s and 1980s. This collection for Spring/Summer 2026 was a powerful and unequivocal celebration of the formidable, unapologetic woman, embracing a "more is more" philosophy with bold conviction.

The "pussy bow" shirts which is commonly known for its very feminine and demure aesthetic took on a completely different persona for the SS26 season. The dramatic scale of these bows were not mere embellishment, but became undeniable statement pieces. The leather jackets with exaggerated shoulders and balloon sleeves were a direct nod to the 80s.

The sequence of the looks was intentional with models strutting down the runway in their leather looks and blouses evoking a hard tough exterior. Then evolving to the dramatic voluminous sheer dresses with ruffles in the front which Vaccarello explained can be scrunched up in a ball if needed. The accessories one would think would be more simplistic as to not clash with the drama of the looks but just the opposite was presented. Statement earrings, chunky bracelets, and large, oversized sunglasses were paired with the looks, amplifying the overall impact and reinforcing the "more is more" mantra.

This deliberate layering of bold accessories ensured that every element contributed to the collection's powerful narrative, solidifying the image of a woman who is both undeniably fashionable and undeniably in control.

Besides the very exciting runway collection that was debuted, the celebrity guests in attendance also caused a flurry of excitement. A notable addition to the front rows this fashion season was none other than our good friend Conrad Fisher, aka Chris Briney from the hit Prime series, The Summer I Turned Pretty. Adorned in a Saint Laurent he exuded an effortlessly cool yet undeniably chic look. A classic suit paired with Saint Laurent's cult leather jacket with exaggerated shoulders. Hailey Bieber and Kate Moss were some of the other celebrity guests seen supporting the brand.
